If you haven't played ultimate frisbee before — it's a no-contact game so you don't need to worry about being tackled. | Basic rules | I don't imagine we'll be strict about the timing rules but in order to keep it friendly the no-contact rules will be closely followed. Bring your running shoes and clothes you don't mind sweating in! If the weather is bad, cancellations will be announced on the e-group. Start time: 6:30 p.m. Location: Between the Midway Park Pavilion and baseball field on Horton Ave. | map |
Wednesday Night Hikes. This popular weekly activity returns beginning Wednesday, May 5. The hikes will be held at various parks throughout the Twin Cities metro area and will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. The hike location and driving directions will be posted on the Rover’s activities page as the details become available. They are usually posted about 2–4 weeks in advance. We normally hike for about 1.5 hours and cover a distance of 3–4 miles. Please bring water. We hike rain or shine. Most weeks there will be optional socializing after the hike at local ice cream shop or watering hole. No need to RSVP, just show up! Guests welcome, Rover membership is not required for day trips. We need your help coordinating these hikes — it’s fun, it’s easy! The great popularity and success of the hikes is due in large part to the many Rovers who pitch in and help out. The only requirement is that the weekly coordinators be current members of the Rovers. Great ideas for hike locations are available from the Rover activity archive or Walk On The Wild Side hiking directory. Or just pick your favorite park in your neighborhood. If you are interested, please contact Jack. Jack G. 651-247-6490
